Custom Floral Invitation in the NH Mountains
It is always an honor to be referred to a wedding client by a wedding planner. Courtney and Nathan's wedding was just such an occasion. Sorrell Downing from Events by Sorrell in New Hampshire was the mastermind behind all this wedding day beauty! And just for a little background info, if it seems like there are an extraordinary number of photos in this gallery of photos by the talented Kate Preftakes, there are! This wedding featured so many of our details and it was also one of our weddings that was supposed to happen in 2020. So there are a few extra pieces involved. This wedding was the inspiration for our Autumn Bouquet wedding suite!
I originally met with Courtney, Nathan, and Courtney's mom, Janet in the fall of 2019! It seems like yesterday and yet....we had a great meeting and pulled together a few ideas about the wedding invitation. Later, we ended up changing direction a bit because Courtney decided on a custom invitation instead.
We talked about all the flowers to be used for the wedding day, and I set out to paint dahlias, ranunculus, greenery, and several other blossoms for the suite in early 2020. All flowers painted...ready to design the invitation in March....and we all know what happened next! We ended up using some of the couple's special flowers on a postponement announcement created from one of our calendars.
There were so many details of this wedding that I truly LOVED!! My new approach for the wedding galleries is to focus on my three favorites-so I will "try" to do that now!
My favorite detail #1-The hand painted flowers, flowers, and more flowers! We used Courtney's custom paintings on all aspects of the wedding. From the postponement save the date, to the invitation, program, flower petal bags, menus (with the guest name at the top!!), and all signage! There is nothing like opting for me to paint flowers just for you to be used in every wedding detail!
My favorite detail #2-the custom map-and how we were able to pull artwork from this painting and use it all over the wedding reception! From the mountains on the welcome sign, to the venue and invitation flowers on the seating chart-OH and Sadie, the couple's sweet pup on the napkins and drink signage too! We even put the map painting on a tea towel to be included in the breakfast theme welcome bag that every guest received!
My favorite detail #3-All of the fun signage...from signature cocktails (including Nathan's beloved Grateful Dead dancing bears), to non-alchoholic drinks at the welcome party, tables named for mountains with a blurb about the hiking mountain on the back! Too many to count!
And the way Sorrell put everything together with flowers by Emily Herzig Floral and the stunning photos by Kate...it was a picture perfect day.
It was so great to work with Courtney and her awesome Mom, Janet, and bring the vision to life. Thanks to you all for allowing me to be a part of this special occasion. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together!!
