2027 Watercolor Desk Calendars are HERE!
It's that time of year! After so many ideas (some worked out and some didn't)...the desk calendars for 2027 are complete. That's the thing about so many things I do. So many ideas, but what I picture in my head doesn't always translate as I hope it will once I get it down on paper. There are so many new paintings that we hope you enjoy.
It's hard to believe, but I have been painting these calendars since 2014! And many of you have been enjoying them every year since then. It's taken awhile to fine tune my approach, but it seems as though two calendars-The Sea and A Colorful Year are the winning combinations! Something for everyone. It is worth mentioning that after coming up with 168 new designs for The Sea calendar, that one has lately been the most challenging for me.
This year, I have a few new designs to mention in particular.
My dear friend, Krista, recently introduced me to the game of Mahjong! I have never been much of a game person, but I am loving playing this game! So, it seemed fitting to do a Mahjong painting for the Colorful Year in 2027. For the mahjong players out there, you may recognize the little nod to the year to come in the racked tiles!
This one was inspired by the adorable movie, "The Sheep Detectives".

Spring tulips in a colorful rain boot as a vase. This was my first painting I did in early May when I was getting started on the designs.

Ship in a bottle-this is a design I have had on my mind for awhile.
Soaring Seagull-years ago one of my childhood friends from Kennebunk requested a seagull...thanks for your patience, Jodi :) and Albie-that fish was done for a special 2026 wedding couple who enjoy going fishing together. I know...2 months in one painting...but I thought these guys go well together!
Last but not least-the El's Cards team favorite painting is of Bob and I sailing away from shore in a little catamaran in Turks and Caicos! So many wonderful memories from that trip, and this one was funny. Let's just say our lack of experience sailing made it even more of an adventure!

I know it may seem early to be thinking about next year already! But we have noticed that the next year's calendar seems to make a first appearance in July, so we want to keep up with that pace.
