Wedding Day Stationery-Ceremony Programs

The invitations are out and your replies are rolling in!  It's time to get going on some of your fun wedding day details (and necessities)!  Since we are finishing up the mailing portion of our year...and doing a lot of Wedding Day paper goods now, I thought it would be fun to do a blog series about how to incorporate stationery in your wedding day (or weekend as the case may be). Your really can continue your invitation theme through your wedding day.  We love creating these special works of art for our clients!

We'll start this informative little series with Ceremony Programs.  This is a great way to tell your guests a little about who is in the wedding and help them follow the order of the ceremony.  There are so many ways these can be created.

For a simple ceremony, you may just want to do a one page flat card, with the wedding party on the front and ceremony details, songs, etc. on the back.  This style doesn't allow for  a lot of detail, but is still a beautiful addition to your wedding day.  This year, we had a bride who had me create this style of program, then we put it in a small wax bag which the design team filled with flower petals for the guests to toss as the bride and groom made their grand exit down the aisle as husband and wife.

Thank you Rachel Buckley for this beautiful and joy filled photo!  We are so happy to say that this stunning wedding was recently featured on Brides.com!  Gorgeous design and planning by  SHE Luxe Weddings .

For a church wedding, the most common type of program used is a folding program.  Things to remember to include-Wedding Party, Ceremony, Remembrance Section, and a short Thank You to your guests.  This style provides more space and is highly recommended so you can fit all the songs and readings.  This is really our most popular style of program.  Sometimes, our couples will need more space if the wedding is large, so we can add an insert if need be.  We just did that recently for one of our couples, and we added a tissue on the back page "for your tears of joy".

For a hot summer day, the program fan is always popular!  This one cannot include as much information as the other types of programs, but it's a fun conversation piece.  And let's face it...very practical!  These shown below feature the couple's beloved dogs with a tropical theme Key West wedding.

When we design programs for our clients, we talk about what design they would like included on the cover. Many times, I have been asked to create a custom painting of the church.  This is one of our most popular designs!  If I have created a map for the couple, we can take the church from the map and use that as the cover artwork on the program.  We have so many designs available to see on our website, people can many times find something that appeals to them.

No matter what type of program you select, your guests will be delighted by this attention to detail.  Here's a good tip...assign someone to pass out the programs to your guests.  That way they are not left in a basket and forgotten.
