Maine Seaside Stunner at the Newagen Inn
Thank you, Carmela, for your wonderful testimonial!
When Carmela, the bride's mom, reached out to me about her daughter's Boothbay Harbor, Maine wedding, I was thrilled at the prospect of creating some artistic pieces for all aspects of the wedding. We met about a year before the wedding was to happen, and kept in close contact all year long, leading up to the big day! Carmela and Isabel had some wonderful ideas for details to include in all elements of the wedding suite....starting at the Save the Date, and ending with the thank you note.
There were several digital elements, because so many of the couple's friends were frequently moving--such as a digital Save the Date and wedding reply for all of the guests. We also did a shower invitation using the floral themes from the wedding day-hydrangeas and coral pink roses.
The wedding invitation had some custom elements to it. Carmela and Isabel requested the Pair of Lobsters invitation have the colors of lobsters and buoys adjusted to light blue and a shade of light coral. We carried this color scheme on to many of the wedding day elements....napkins, menus, reserved signs, and of course, the seating chart.
The invitation also had a super cute packing list...to include bug spray and an umbrella (just in case). The envelope liner used the midcoast Maine map with the couple's own wedding details included. The illustrated schedule of events for the welcome bags also featured this map design on the other side! This map was a theme running through the wedding...all the way to the thank you notes!
The wedding day had so many details that were perfectly suited to this couple's Maine ceremony and reception. The first of these were the program details. The program artwork was a painting of the view from the ceremony site. This same image was used on a sign that (lovingly) requested that guests not use their phones and cameras to take photos during the ceremony! On the back of the program was a painting of the bride's dad's boat, Take 5. This painting was also featured on some drink signage at the rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour. Don't miss the "no photos" sign! I love the wording on this and a couple of my other brides requested that I use the same wording on theirs later in the summer. Thank you Isabel!
As the guests entered the tent, they each found their seat assignment hand written in calligraphy on the hand painted seating chart featuring the state of Maine. So many special details were included on the chart, including the family home, a hockey stick to honor the groom, a little painting of the couple in front of the venue, and a lobster buoy covered hut to name a few sweet details. Of course, the lobster holding a heart theme topped the chart just beneath Isabel and Rob's names.
The place cards at each guest's seat were hand lettered in calligraphy-but each guest had something different...driftwood, rocks, mussel shells, or sea glass in different colors. Such a great idea...and a fun project to do!
Each table had a free standing, folded menu and there was a little sailboat with a chalkboard sticker on the sail with the table name in calligraphy.
I loved all the fun signage! Carmela and Isabel didn't miss anything. From the signature drinks, cake, and ice cream flavors, Primp and Prep for the ladies, to the flip flops for dancing, and the midcoast Maine survival kit-we were able to bring some fun artwork and custom elements to all these details.
And this day was so beautiful! I was thrilled to receive all the photos taken of the special details that we put together for this lovely couple. Carmela and I did a special project together last fall after the wedding festivities were over. This is one of the biggest benefits of working together on wedding stationery. The relationship often continues on for many years to come. I plan for that to be the case with this lovely family!
Isabel and Rob, we wish you all the happiness in the world as you embark on this most special of partnerships together. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of it all. Working with your family was 100% a pleasure!
xoxo
