El's Cards has been in business for 10 years this year and is excited to introduce these hand painted watercolor maps. These maps make a perfect special gift!
The map shown below was created for a couple of dear friends
who just bought their first house.


How does El create these watercolor maps?

Step one:
Research and pencil sketch

El will consult a map of the area to be painted for roads, bodies of water and general layout and then will create a pencil sketch for
placement accuracy.

This map was created for a Texas wedding reception party.
It features the couple's 4 dogs as a fun feature.

Step two:
First Draft painting

El will then do a first draft rough painting to verify colors and details of locations and other accents. You will be shown an image via email to see details and if anything needs to be moved, added, or subtracted.

This is a first draft of a Save the Date card for an Island Wedding. The bride originally thought purple would work, but went with green for her final painting.

The front featured the map and the inside held all the wedding info. Final painting is here.

Step three:
Final painting

El will do the final painting after all corrections have been made to the first draft. If there are any changes to be made to your custom map, they must be submitted to El before the final painting is started, or additional artwork charges will apply.
